Hangul font project
Hangul is the Korean alphabet system. It is known to be published in 1446 by King Sejong and it has been widely used by South and North Korea in newspapers and other printed media beginning in 1980. It is not only a scientifically created language system but also a symbol of political, linguistic and cultural independence and freedom of Korea.
The artist created this project as a sad metaphor of cultural imperialism (for western culture and caucasian bodies) that is evident in Korean fashion culture, beauty culture in South Kora.
Materials used in the project: fashion magazines published in South Korea.
